Explore Munich’s listed 420-friendly venues and directions. Lounges, cultivation associations and prescription-based medical cannabis are separate.
German lounge listings provide directions, not Zazapass entry passes. Confirm each venue’s house rules before visiting. A lounge is not a cannabis shop or cultivation association. Medical cannabis requires a doctor’s prescription and pharmacy dispensing.

Cannabis in Munich: the complete guide
German cannabis law: what is allowed since the CanG
Since the Cannabisgesetz (CanG) came into force on 1 April 2024, adults in Germany may possess a limited amount of cannabis for personal use and grow a small number of plants at home. Supply happens through non-commercial cultivation associations (Anbauvereinigungen) that may pass cannabis to their own members — there are no commercial dispensaries, and selling cannabis outside that framework remains illegal.
Consumption is restricted by place and time: it is prohibited in the immediate vicinity of schools, playgrounds, youth facilities and sports grounds, and in pedestrian zones during daytime hours. Cultivation associations are also not allowed to let members consume on their premises.
That combination is why German cities have consumption lounges and 420-friendly gastronomy rather than shops: private venues where adults bring their own cannabis, plus a separate, regulated medical route for patients.
Adults 18+; possession limits and distance rules apply in public
Anbauvereinigungen supply members only, no consumption on their premises
Lounges and 420-friendly venues are bring-your-own — nothing is sold there
Medical cannabis is prescription-based and dispensed through pharmacies
How consumption lounges work in Munich
Zazapass lists Munich venues that tolerate or welcome cannabis consumption — lounges, shisha-style bars, private clubs and 420-friendly gastronomy. None of them sell cannabis. You bring your own, buy drinks or food, and use the space.
Because these are private venues, house rules replace the law at the door: most ask for 18+ ID, some are members-only or require a table reservation on weekends, and several restrict smoking to a designated room. We publish the address and opening hours so you can plan the evening rather than guess.
Bring your own — no cannabis is sold on site
18+ with photo ID at nearly every door
Ask before vaping, dabbing or using edibles; rules differ per venue
Do not consume on the pavement outside — that is where fines happen
Bavaria enforces harder — plan accordingly
Bavaria applied the strictest possible reading of the CanG from day one: consumption is banned across the Oktoberfest grounds and comparable public festivals, and enforcement of the distance and pedestrian-zone rules in the city centre is active rather than theoretical.
None of that changes what adults may do in private. It does mean Munich is a city where you use a venue or a private space, and never the Marienplatz area.

Medical cannabis in Germany: the legal route for residents
German doctors decide whether a cannabis prescription is medically appropriate. A prescription does not guarantee dispensing, delivery or pickup: pharmacies must check the prescription and availability. This medical route is separate from lounges or associations.
If you live in Germany and want to understand whether the medical route applies to you, our free 420 MED PASS guide covers eligibility, consultations and pharmacy checks. Delivery or pickup options can only be considered after a prescription is issued and remain subject to pharmacy checks, availability and supported regions.
