Cannabis Social Clubs in Ibiza: The 2026 Visitor Guide

Ibiza runs on a season, and so do its cannabis associations. From May to October the island is saturated; in winter a fraction of the venues stay open. Everything else follows Spanish association law exactly: private premises, registered members, nothing leaves the club.
Is it legal? What Spanish law really says
Spain has no recreational cannabis shops. It has cannabis social clubs — asociaciones cannábicas: private, non-profit associations whose registered members share cannabis cultivated collectively for their own consumption. Nothing is sold to the public and nothing may be advertised in the street.
The legal foundation is the line Spanish courts draw between private and public conduct. Private consumption and cultivation for personal use by adults are not criminal offences; consumption or possession in public is an administrative offence under Ley Orgánica 4/2015 and is routinely fined. Trafficking stays criminal. That is why clubs are members-only, why the door is closed, and why nothing you receive inside may leave with you.
- Members-only, non-profit associations — never a walk-in shop
- 18+ at minimum, several venues set 21+
- Photo ID whose name matches your membership
- Consumption inside the premises only
- No photos of other members, no resale, no uninvited guests
How to join a club in Ibiza — step by step
Traditionally an association in Ibiza requires a referral from an existing member plus an in-person registration appointment. That is the single biggest obstacle for visitors, and it is what a Zazapass membership removes: we are the sponsoring member, so your registration is prepared before you land.
- Choose a single club pass for one venue, or the Ibiza IBZ Pass for every partner club in the region
- Enter the holder name exactly as printed on the passport or ID you will bring
- Receive a digital pass with a QR code by email and in your Zazapass account (Apple Wallet supported)
- Show the QR at reception — staff scan it, see your name, pass type and validity, and complete the membership form
- Bring your ID, follow the house rules, and your membership is valid for the whole pass period
A pass is a membership, not a cannabis purchase: it covers the association registration and the sponsorship, while anything you receive inside is handled by the association under its own contribution rules.
Where to look on the island
- Ibiza Town (Eivissa) & Marina Botafoch — the year-round associations
- San Antonio (Sant Antoni) — the busiest visitor scene in summer
- Playa d'en Bossa — resort-facing venues within walking distance of the strip
- Santa Eulària & San José — quieter, more residential associations
Timing your visit around the clubbing calendar
On big opening and closing weekends the island's transport and doors are both under pressure. Associations are not nightclubs — most close well before the venues on the strip — so plan the club visit for the afternoon or early evening and the rest of the night afterwards.
Etiquette: what gets you turned away in Ibiza
Associations survive on discretion. Doormen in every Spanish city enforce the same short list, and breaking it costs you the membership rather than earning a warning.
- Never say the club's name to strangers or post its address publicly
- Do not consume in the street, on public transport or in hotel doorways in Ibiza
- No filming or photographing other members or the counter
- Never take out, share or resell what you receive inside
- Arrive calm; visibly intoxicated arrivals are refused
- Ask before using vaporisers, dabs or edibles — rules differ per venue
Ibiza-specific warnings
- Street sellers around San Antonio and Playa d'en Bossa are a scam and a criminal risk — never buy outside an association
- Public consumption near beach clubs is fined; security will also remove you
- Boat parties and villas are private but not lawless: the villa owner's rules apply, and public docks are public
- Prices on the island are higher across the board, including association contributions
