How to Get Weed in Granada: Law, Etiquette and Where to Stay

Cannabis in Granada: the short answer

There are no cannabis shops for tourists in Granada. Spain’s cannabis social clubs are private associations for adults, and each one decides under its own rules whether to admit a visitor. Here is what you should know before you go.

The rules for visitors in Granada

  • No shops: Cannabis cannot be bought legally in shops in Spain. Buying on the street is illegal, and the quality is unknown.
  • Public places: Consuming or carrying cannabis on streets, on beaches, in parks or on terraces can lead to fines.
  • Private clubs: Cannabis social clubs are private associations for adults. Each club sets its own membership and admission rules and may refuse a visitor.
  • Age and ID: You must be 18 or older, and clubs usually check your passport or ID card.
  • Travel: Never take cannabis to the airport, onto a plane or across a border.

How club access works in Granada

Clubs are private. They often ask visitors for an invitation or a referral from a member, a valid ID and an entry fee. The Zazapass Invite Pass covers only the entry fee at participating clubs, if the club accepts you. It does not make you a member and does not guarantee admission: each club decides. Zazapass lists participating clubs on the Granada page.

Getting to and around Granada

Granada has a small airport with limited routes, so many visitors fly into Málaga and continue by bus or car, which takes roughly two hours. Inside the city, buses and walking cover most distances. Book Alhambra tickets well in advance.

Granada in practice

The Albaicín quarter, part of a UNESCO World Heritage site together with the Alhambra, sits on a hill above the centre. Realejo and the city centre are good bases, and the Sierra Nevada mountains with their ski resort are close.

Club etiquette: how not to be that tourist

  • Bring your passport or ID card. Clubs check age and identity.
  • Consume only inside the club. Never on the street, on the beach or on a terrace.
  • Do not take cannabis out of the club, and never take it onto a flight.
  • Keep it quiet around the entrance. Clubs depend on good relations with their neighbours.
  • Follow the house rules on phones, photos and behaviour. If you are unsure, ask the staff.
  • Do not buy from street sellers. It is illegal, and you cannot know what you get.

Where to stay: Cannabliss Retreat Marbella

For now, Zazapass presents one stay in Spain: Cannabliss Retreat Marbella, a 420-friendly stay with three rooms from €120 per night. You send a booking request through Zazapass, the host confirms availability personally, and the exact address is shared after confirmation. Marbella is on the Costa del Sol, also in Andalusia, so it works as a stop on a longer trip through the south.
