🇹🇭 Thailand

Dispensaries in Bangkok

Thailand decriminalised cannabis in 2022 and has been tightening the framework ever since — most recently by requiring a medical prescription for dispensary purchases. Bangkok still has the largest dispensary density in Asia, concentrated along Sukhumvit, Khao San and Silom.

Cannabis in Bangkok: the complete guide

Thailand's rules: read this before you fly

Cannabis is not a narcotic under Thai law, but it is not a free market either. Regulation has moved toward a medical-only model: dispensaries operate under Ministry of Public Health rules and prescription requirements, licensing is enforced, and the framework has changed more than once since 2022.

What has been consistent: 20+ only, no sale to pregnant or breastfeeding people, no public smoking (which can be treated as a public nuisance offence), and absolutely no taking cannabis out of the country. Border penalties in the region are severe.

  • 20+ with passport at the counter
  • Prescription-led access — reputable shops will ask, and the requirement can change
  • No smoking in public places; use the shop's lounge or private accommodation
  • Never carry cannabis across a Thai border, including to Malaysia, Singapore or Indonesia

Bangkok district guide

The BTS and MRT make all of these 15 minutes apart; taxis in Bangkok traffic do not.

  • Sukhumvit (Nana to Ekkamai) — the highest density, English-speaking staff, wide range
  • Thonglor & Ekkamai — upmarket dispensaries and lounges, better flower, higher prices
  • Khao San Road — backpacker-focused, cheapest, most variable quality
  • Silom & Sathorn — business district shops, quieter, professional
  • Ari & Chatuchak — local-leaning shops away from the tourist strips

House rules and etiquette in Bangkok

Every dispensary in the network relies on discretion to keep operating, and staff do enforce it.

  • Do not name the venue or post its exact address publicly
  • No filming or photographing other guests
  • Do not consume in the street, on public transport or in hotel doorways in Bangkok
  • Never resell or pass on what you receive inside
  • Arrive calm and sober-ish; intoxicated arrivals are turned away

Zazapass provides membership access to private associations and lounges. Nothing on this page is legal advice, and no cannabis is sold on this website.
